Run shielded control wiring through walls and risers with this 16AWG shielded stranded bare copper control cable, rated CMR / FT4 and C(ETL)US Listed for permanent in-wall and vertical riser installations in residential and commercial buildings. The CMR rating is code-compliant for any non-plenum indoor installation and comes at a lower cost than plenum-rated cable when the installation does not pass through air-handling spaces.
The shield system — PET tape, AL foil, and a 7-strand tinned copper drain wire — blocks electromagnetic interference from nearby electrical wiring, HVAC equipment, and lighting ballasts, delivering clean and reliable control signals over long runs to security devices, audio amplifiers, and access control equipment. The 16AWG gauge handles more current and maintains lower voltage drop over long runs than 18AWG. A built-in ripcord enables fast jacket removal at every termination.
