Wire background music zones, bookshelf speakers, and in-ceiling fill speakers with this 16AWG 2-conductor in-wall speaker wire. CL2 rated and fire safety compliant for permanent in-wall installation in residential buildings, it is available in four lengths for any project from a single speaker to a multi-room installation where run lengths are short.
16AWG is the right gauge for in-wall runs up to 50 feet to 8-ohm speakers at moderate power levels — background music, fill speakers, rear surround channels in standard rooms, and any application where the speaker is close to the amplifier or volume control. The thinner gauge is also easier to route through tight wall cavities and pull through conduit than 14AWG or 12AWG where space is at a premium. Color-coded insulation — Red for positive (+), Black for negative (-) — makes polarity identification fast and reliable at every termination.
