14/2 vs 16/2 Speaker Wire: Which Should You Choose?
Learn the differences between 14/2 and 16/2 speaker wire, including distance, power handling, installation flexibility, and ideal applications.
Outdoor Speaker Wire 16AWG 4 Stranded Conductors OFC Direct Burial Black 500ft
Connect two pairs of outdoor speakers with one burial using this 16AWG 4-conductor OFC direct burial speaker wire. Four conductors replace two separate 2-conductor runs to a pair of outdoor speakers — one pull, one trench, two speakers. CMR and CL3R rated for in-wall and riser runs where the cable enters the building.
16AWG handles outdoor runs up to 50 feet per pair to 8-ohm speakers at moderate power — background music, deck speakers, and landscape speakers near the amp. At 0.256 in. OD and 28 lbs, it's thinner than the 14AWG 4C outdoor version (0.315 in., 42 lbs). For runs over 50ft or 4-ohm speakers, use 14AWG 4C instead.
