Run shielded EMI-resistant control wiring through the most code-critical spaces with this 18AWG shielded stranded bare copper control cable. Rated CMP and CL2P, it meets the highest indoor fire safety standard and is approved for air-handling spaces above suspended ceilings and below raised floors, as well as risers and in-wall runs in residential and commercial buildings.
The aluminum foil shield with tinned copper drain wire blocks electromagnetic interference from HVAC systems, power wiring, and lighting ballasts for clean, stable control signals. At 18AWG, the cable is thinner and lighter than the 16AWG version — easier to pull in conduit-dense installations and ideal for devices with moderate current requirements over shorter runs. A built-in ripcord enables fast, clean jacket removal at every termination point.
