This 12/2 (12AWG, 2-conductor) speaker wire is built for permanent in-wall installation in homes, apartments, and condos. Lower resistance than 14AWG or 16AWG gives it more headroom for longer runs, high-power amplifiers, and 4-ohm speaker loads, and it ships in four lengths to match any single-speaker run or whole-home audio project.
Keep total wire resistance under about 5% of your speakers’ lowest rated impedance to avoid audible signal loss — even an 8-ohm speaker can dip to 4 ohms; shorter or lower-power setups may do fine with our more economical 14/2 or 16/2 wire. Color-coded insulation (Red = positive, Black = negative) keeps polarity consistent at every terminal, and it works with banana plugs, spade connectors, bare wire, and wall-plate terminals.
