For most standard home theater installations, 14AWG is the correct gauge — it handles runs up to 100 feet to 8-ohm speakers without measurable signal loss, and is the most widely specified gauge for surround sound and multi-room speaker installations.
The flexible stranded construction routes easily through walls, around framing, and into in-wall speaker plates without kinking. Color-coded insulation — Red for positive (+), Black for negative (-) — makes polarity identification fast and reliable at every amplifier output and speaker terminal. Compatible with banana plugs, spade connectors, bare wire binding posts, and wall plate terminals across all standard audio components.
